...and so it's time!
And so it’s time, for months dare I say even years I have had a dream, to one day open a beautiful tearoom. Everything I have ever done within All Mine Cakes has always been for this moment; from being brave enough in 2014 to enter the Great Taste Awards, to falling in love with our vintage camper van called Little Pudding, to creating my Little Pudding range of desserts and my GF flour blends and now being a multi-award winning cake baking business with 7 Great Taste Awards for my gluten free & free from cakes.
For those who don’t know me or the brand, I have a passion, a passion for everyone (where possible) to have the opportunity to enjoy cake despite food allergies & intolerances or lifestyle choices yet be so delicious that nobody can tell any difference. And so here we are with a grand opening on the 20th July 2018. We are going gently to start with, to give us chance to catch our breath and review how we are doing.
So that you guys can plan, we are opening 20th, 21st & 22nd July (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). The following week we are open 26th, 27th, 28th & 29th July (Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday), this is being repeated the followed week so 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th August. Beyond this date, well, we haven’t got that far because this is one great big leap of faith. A belief of “if you build it they will come”.
The support of my amazing team and you guys is what enables us to be in the position of giving my heart and soul to the fishing lodge which stood unused for years. I walked past it for years until I was brave enough to ask a question and take an opportunity because all that could be said was “No” which meant we had nothing to lose.
So, here’s the plan for the next few weeks. Until we find our feet, we are simply serving tea, coffee, ice cream & cake, however, there is nothing ordinary about what we will have available. We have Bird & Blend teas, 200-degree coffee, Bluebell’s multi award-winning ice cream based in Derbyshire and of course All Mine Cakes.
We are unable to take reservations at the moment, but aim to have this service available in the future. We are dog-friendly with our outside seating area only, but this area has a view of the fishing lake. Believe me, it's a beautiful view! We are in the process of becoming breastfeeding friendly too.
So, I ask you to please be supportive of us. We are a new team of people giving the best we can. Yes, it may take us a little longer but we are working to exacting standards with new equipment and learning as we go. There is only so much you can role play and hypothesis to think you have everything covered, but it’s probably going to be something simple we have overlooked. Our brains have been fit to burst for weeks. We have given it everything physically, emotionally and psychologically. So yes, I may cry several times but these will be proud tears; tears of relief, tears of realising the enormity of what we have achieved and the unknowing journey ahead of us.
Thank you for your support in waiting for us to finish completing the tearoom. I promise it’s worth the wait! Love Hayley x x
